Sportsbook Launch

We were brought onto Rebet’s launch through a director I’d already built trust with, and what started as “just post-audio” quickly turned into something way deeper. There was no brief, no rulebook, just a young startup trying to figure out who they were. We took the time to slow down, talk it out, and let the sound lead. I spent weeks experimenting, iterating, and shaping a sporty, cinematic energy that felt alive, not generic.

2024

Commercial Sound Design, Foley, Commercial Mix, Commercial Mastering, Audio Branding

The Situation & The Goal

  • Brought on by director Declan Kyle to lead full post-audio for a launch campaign for Rebet, a new digital sportsbook & casino platform.

  • Project was initially intended for ESPN broadcast delivery, requiring adherence to strict broadcast audio standards.

  • Rebet, as a young startup, lacked a defined creative brief or sonic identity, creating ambiguity across departments.

  • Campaign included an ending with an animated logo, requiring a repeatable but distinctive audio identity.

  • Goal:

    • Define Rebet’s foundational sonic brand

    • Deliver a cinematic, sports-driven audio experience

    • Support a multi-spot launch campaign across digital platforms

Process & Key Actions

  • Designed three distinct audio-only sonic identity concepts, each built from 10–20 layered sound effects, exploring different emotional and brand directions.

  • Authored a custom creative brief and sonic rulebook, defining:

    • Sound palette constraints

    • Sample and sound-pack selection logic

    • Directional rules for energy, pacing, and sport emphasis

  • Designed a dedicated logo sound design system for Rebet’s animated end-card, balancing:

    • Industrial / hard textures

    • Sporty, electric energy

    • Smooth transients and frequency control to remain easy on the ears

  • Iterated on logo stings to ensure consistency across spots while maintaining impact and memorability.

  • Influenced adjacent post departments, with audio direction informing motion graphics and 3D design decisions.

  • Iterated across multiple revisions and cuts, re-sound-designing as new scenes and campaign deliverables were added.

  • Delivered a high-end final mix, then coordinated external mastering with a Berkeley-based mastering engineer to ensure polish and consistency.

Results

  • Campaign launched digitally as a multi-spot rollout.

  • The flagship spot became Rebet’s most-viewed piece of promotional content to date.

  • The animated logo sting became a repeatable sonic signature, reinforcing brand recognition across the campaign.

  • Audio helped establish Rebet’s first cohesive sonic identity, contributing to a successful platform launch and setting a creative benchmark for future content.

Personal Takeaways & Skills Gained

  • Proven ability to build brand identity from zero, especially in early-stage startup environments.

  • Strengthened role as an audio-led creative partner, not just a post technician.

  • Deepened experience in campaign-level sound design, spanning flagship spots and cutdowns.

  • Learned how to adapt broadcast-grade workflows to high-performing digital releases.

  • Learned how to design logo-specific sound systems that balance impact, brand aggression, and listener comfort.

Kinigra Deon × Sparkling Ice Content Day

One night, I got a call from director Palmer Williams III asking if I could be packed and ready to head to Alabama by sunrise. Less than twelve hours later, I was on the road to help capture a full content day for Kinigra Deon and her partnership with Sparkling Ice. It was my first time traveling for a production, and there was something exciting about stepping into a fast-moving set with people I'd never worked with before. Sometimes the best opportunities don't come with weeks of planning—they come with a phone call, a packed bag, and trusting that your skills are enough.

First Contact

I got brought onto this one through Danilo Parra, who had this short, off-kilter film called First Contact he was getting ready to release. The cut was already locked my job was to make the sound better and re-sound design the picture. Once I dropped the edit into my session, I focused on every last detail, every breath, scrape, and movement had to sell something the audience never actually sees. I leaned into the discomfort, let the sound get intimate and unsettling, and trusted my instincts instead of playing it safe. Every little movement mattered, because if the audio didn’t feel believable, the whole illusion fell apart. That project sticks with me because it is a strong example of auditory storytelling

Danilo Parra

2024

Sound Design, Foley, Film Mix, Film Mastering

The Situation & The Goal

  • Brought on by filmmaker/director Danilo Parra to re-sound design and mix a completed super-short alternative film.

  • The film centers on a surreal, dialogue-driven sci-fi concept involving an off-screen transformation meant to feel disturbing, intimate, and believable.

  • Original cut required elevated audio storytelling to:

    • Sell a gruesome, unseen physical transformation.

    • Create a cold, vintage, sci-fi tone that supported the psychological tension.

    • Deliver a polished, festival-ready final mix.

  • Goal: Use sound design and mix as the primary storytelling device to enhance realism, atmosphere, and emotional impact—especially where visuals intentionally withhold detail.

Process & Key Actions

  • Received and conformed the director’s final AAF edit into a custom Pro Tools post-audio film template, ensuring proper session organization and redundancy through duplicate backups.

  • Organized and cleaned all audio assets into structured stems (dialogue, production SFX, designed SFX, temp effects, music) for efficient post workflow.

  • Performed dialogue cleanup and leveling, addressing noise issues and establishing a consistent dynamic foundation.

  • Designed the tonal character of the dialogue using Waves Ultimate plugins, including Abbey Road King’s Microphones to create a cold, vintage texture.

  • Applied multiband compression and EQ to enhance clarity and low-end presence while maintaining an intentionally restrained, unsettling sound.

  • Introduced analog tape saturation to restore warmth and cohesion after heavy processing, balancing grit with professionalism.

  • Executed detailed sci-fi and gore sound design, combining commercial sample libraries with practical foley techniques (including fruit and vegetable manipulation) to imply off-screen physical mutilation.

  • Built audio moments frame-by-frame, using sound to guide the audience’s imagination and sell the alien transformation without visual depiction.

Results

  • Delivered a fully re-designed and mixed soundtrack that elevated the film’s narrative clarity and sensory impact.

  • Audio successfully carried critical story beats where visuals were intentionally absent, enhancing audience immersion.

  • The film received Official Selection at the Spring 2024 Alternative Film Festival, earning recognition in the Best Director — Super Short category.

  • Positioned the project as a strong example of audio-led storytelling in experimental and sci-fi cinema.

Personal Takeaways & Skills Gained

  • Strengthened expertise in audio-driven narrative storytelling, particularly when sound must replace explicit visuals.

  • Deepened practical skills in advanced sound design, foley creation, and tonal mixing for sci-fi and horror contexts.

  • Reinforced disciplined post-production workflows using Pro Tools for film and festival delivery.

  • Gained confidence collaborating with directors on experimental material where audio is a primary narrative force.

Shore Gore

This one came to me through Valentino Dors once again, and he needed someone to really feel the film, not just clean it up. It was a horror short, so the sound had to breathe, creep, and sit in your chest a little. I handled the post-audio top to bottom—dialogue, texture, little sonic moments that make silence scary—but what stuck with me was how much trust was involved. I even ended up running prosthetics across state lines for the shoot, which was wild and low-key poetic in a “whatever it takes for the film” kind of way. Seeing it go on to place at festivals just confirmed what I already believe: when the sound is right, the whole film moves better.

https://vimeo.com/1021819121

Valentino "Wavylord" Dors

  • Goal: Deliver a professional-quality stereo mix and master that elevated the film’s atmosphere and met festival screening standards.

Process & Key Actions

  • Edited and cleaned dialogue to ensure clarity, consistency, and emotional impact across scenes.

  • Designed custom sound effects and atmospheric elements to heighten suspense and reinforce horror cues.

  • Performed Foley work to enhance realism and physicality within key moments.

  • Mixed and mastered a final stereo deliverable suitable for festival exhibition.

  • Collaborated directly with the director to align sound choices with the film’s creative vision.

  • Handled production logistics beyond audio, including coordinating pickup and shipment of prosthetics to the Florida shoot location.

  • Executed post-audio workflow using Adobe Audition, managing the entire sound pipeline independently.

Results

  • The short film became a three-time festival selection/placement.

  • Delivered audio quality contributed to the film’s overall reception—critical in a genre where sound design strongly influences audience engagement and judges’ perception.

  • Successfully delivered a polished, professional stereo mix and master on a completed narrative film.

  • Reinforced the importance of sound quality as a core driver of film success, particularly in festival environments.

  • Demonstrated reliability and creative trust as a solo post-audio contributor working directly with a director.

Self Titled Files Trailer

The album was dropping that same week. City Island Productions tapped me through Thomas Carmona and basically said they needed it in like a day or two. The video already had this quiet-to-chaotic energy to it; Molly alone in a bathroom, then spiraling outward into movement, light, and eventually the street. My job was to feel that descent and push it just a little further. What made it hit different was that I was already a real fan of her music. So it wasn’t just “doing the job” it was about doing right by the artist and the moment. When it dropped and people really locked in with it, that felt like a quiet win. Not a crazy flashy project, just one of those projects where the vibe lined up and everything clicked.

Molly Santana

2024

Sound Design, Music Rollout Audio, Film Mix, Music Visual Mixing

The Situation & The Goal

  • Brought onto the project by City Island Productions via producer Thomas Carmona.

  • The team was producing the official album cover / cinematic trailer for Molly Santana’s self-titled album release.

  • Extremely tight turnaround: sound design needed within 24–48 hours to align with the album rollout happening that same week.

  • Video concept leaned heavily into psychological tension, instability, and surreal emotional descent.

  • Goal:

    • Deliver cinematic, psychologically charged sound design that elevated the visuals.

    • Amplify the artist’s emotional state and narrative arc.

    • Meet an aggressive deadline without sacrificing quality or cohesion.

Process & Key Actions

  • Analyzed the 1.5-minute cinematic video to map emotional beats and psychological escalation.

  • Designed custom soundscapes to heighten tension, disorientation, and instability as the narrative progressed.

  • Layered subtle psychological audio cues (texture, movement, ambience) to mirror the artist’s descent from controlled intimacy to public delirium.

  • Synced sound design tightly to visual transitions, including:

    • Bathroom mirror/lipstick scene

    • Movement into open space with spotlight choreography

    • Street sequence with cars and disoriented motion

  • Worked under extreme time pressure, completing full sound design within 1–2 days.

  • Collaborated remotely with production, delivering a final mix ready for immediate social and release deployment.

  • Balanced cinematic polish with underground aesthetic, aligning with the artist’s brand and audience expectations.

  • Demonstrated reliability as a go-to audio collaborator for fast-moving production teams.

  • Validated the power of audio to intensify visual storytelling without overpowering it.

The Comeback

Another one with Palmer Williams III. He was helping on the visual side, knew the set needed real audio support, and tapped me so sound wouldn’t turn into a last-minute scramble. The project was for a skincare brand making a comeback and the energy from jump felt intentional. Calm. Focused. Like everybody actually cared. I came in early, mapped everything out, and let the prep do the heavy lifting so the day could breathe. On set, it was smooth — minimal chaos, clean communication, and a lot of trust. All other women on the set too, which shifted the vibe in a good way. It didn’t feel rushed or sloppy; it felt considered.

EGOH Skincare

2025

Production Sound Mixer, Boom Operator

The Situation & The Goal

  • Expanded industry relationships and visibility within commercial and brand-driven production environments.

Sportsbook Explainer

Rebet needed their first real explainer, something clean and animated that actually showed how the platform works. This one came right after the launch spot, so it was like continuing a conversation. Because we’d already figured out their sound, I wasn’t guessing anymore. I pulled from the same textures, rhythms, and energy we built in the first spot and reshaped it to fit motion, UI, and clarity without killing the vibe. Creatively, that was the fun part: proving the sound was right, not just hit hard once.

TECC THE HALLS Recap

Helped polish a recap from Lil Tecca’s tour — the very last stop, Christmas Day, back home in New York. Nothing flashy, no overthinking. The ask was simple: make it feel alive. The edit already had the moments: quick performance hits, fans before the show, fans after, etc. so my job was really about restraint. Let the energy breathe, add just enough texture to glue it all together, and not step on the emotion. Sometimes the hardest part creatively is knowing when to chill.

T8 Extreme EVO Mountain Phase

We were hiking up Mt. Yonah, cold air, boots crunching gravel, trying to make something cinematic without overthinking it. My role wasn’t flashy, I was there to keep things moving, keep energy right, and make sure the actor (who was on his first ever acting gig) felt supported. The director and actor were old friends who hadn’t worked together in years, so there was history in the air. I sat in the middle, translated vibes, eased tension, and let everybody lock in creatively. I grabbed BTS on a Sony, tossed sound ideas to the editor on the fly, and just stayed present. Even though I didn’t get to do the final sound design, the ideas lived on. More than anything, it mattered because it set the tone—for the project, for the actor’s future, and for the kind of collaborator I want to be: someone who makes the whole room better, not just the final frame.

  • Took first concrete step in talent representation and career development, setting groundwork for future placements.

Admit One

I got Admit One after the director saw me working sound on another set and hit me up like, “I need that energy on my film next month.” She was an early-stage director and also acting in it, so once I said yes, the whole audio side basically became my responsibility from planning to execution to post. I took the script, sat with it, and built the entire sound approach from scratch. Five locations, two days, zero room for mistakes. The shoot wasn’t perfect—equipment issues, power problems, noisy Atlanta streets, etc. but that's when you adapt, you stay calm, you make it work. What mattered most to me was making the film feel alive. Not just clean dialogue, but sound that supported the story and the emotion. Seeing it screen, hearing people react, and knowing the audio held up, that’s the payoff. This project was a turning point for me: more responsibility, more trust, and proof that I can carry an entire department when it counts.

Mascot Test

Jelani J. Miller, a visual artist I respect connected with me and had this animated mascot that needed sound that actually has personality. The animation wasn’t even finished yet, but the intention was clear: that early-2000s commercial energy, where sound does a lot of the heavy lifting. The whole process felt playful in the best way. Digging through old idents, trusting instinct, recording weird stuff around the house and at stores. At some point it stopped feeling like sound effects and more like figuring out who this character is and how it reacts to the world. That’s why it mattered to me. We were giving a mascot a voice, a mood, a way to exist across different moments. When it finally clicked and he signed off instantly, it felt like one of those rare projects where sound doesn’t sit behind the visuals… it stands shoulder to shoulder with them.

MOMENTSLATER

2023

Character Sound Design, Foley, Audio Branding

The Situation & The Goal

Collaborated with a visual artist/director to design audio for an animated robotic character used as a recurring brand mascot. Visual animation was still in-progress, requiring audio decisions to be driven by intended physical behavior and motion logic rather than finalized visuals.

The visual reference pulled from early-2000s animated idents and bumpers, emphasizing short-form clarity, character immediacy, and mechanical expressiveness.

The character required a distinct, physically believable sonic system capable of:

  • Communicating mass, material, and propulsion behavior within seconds

  • Supporting multiple emotional and motion states without relying on music

  • Remaining modular and reusable across future animations with different pacing, tone, and intent

Rather than a single sound pass, the project demanded a behavior-driven audio system that could scale and adapt.

Goal: Design and deliver a modular character audio system that:

  • Reinforced physical presence, mechanical weight, and motion intent

  • Supported dynamic emotional and propulsion states

  • Allowed future reuse through parameterized variation rather than fixed playback

Process & Key Actions

  • Research & Direction

    • Studied early-2000s animated idents to understand how short-duration sound design establishes physicality and personality efficiently

    • Aligned with the director on a mechanical, cartoon-adjacent sensibility while keeping the audio clean, modern, and system-oriented

    • Scoped the project to sound effects and character audio only, intentionally excluding music to preserve downstream flexibility

    • Captured and tested original source material, including:

      • Found-object recordings for exploratory mechanical textures

      • Servo and gear artifacts extracted from consumer electronics

    • Built early drafts prioritizing behavior, texture, and response, not final polish

  • Character System Design

    • Proposed and implemented a multi-state character system, delivering several “robot expressions” rather than a single static design

    • Each expression was treated as a behavioral variation (energy, intent, attitude) rather than a separate asset

    • Following clarification of the robot’s physical makeup (fully metal, ~3–4 ft tall):

      • Replaced lighter source material with recordings of real metal free weights to capture realistic impact and inertia

      • Time-stretched and EQ-shaped earlier material to increase perceived mass and low-frequency presence

      • Adjusted transient behavior to better reflect mechanical weight and movement resistance

  • Propulsion & Motion Audio

    • Designed custom synthesized propulsion and movement elements using VSTs and DSP tools

    • Engineered a custom synth patch by first defining the robot’s mechanical “voice” (timbre, range, behavior), then building synthesis around that concept

    • Developed multiple jetpack/propulsion variants with different tonal and motion characteristics

  • The final propulsion system utilized:

    • Oscillating samples

    • Granular processing

    • Filtering and modulation

  • This allowed fine control over thrust intensity, acceleration, and perceived force, enabling dynamic adaptation to motion cues.

  • Integration & Refinement

    • Mapped audio frame-by-frame to the animation’s emotional and physical arc, ensuring sound reinforced movement intent and narrative beats

    • Iterated based on detailed feedback, including:

      • Removing retro-style processing to maintain clarity and modern fidelity

      • Simplifying movement layers for intelligibility

      • Creating space for future elements (e.g., orb sound)

    • Delivered a final, balanced WAV with all revisions incorporated

Results

  • Delivered a fully approved, production-ready character audio system

  • Successfully established physical presence and expressive behavior for an unfinished animation using sound alone

  • Provided a reusable, modular audio framework rather than a one-off sound pass

  • Strengthened the project’s overall identity by tightly aligning sound behavior with motion and intent

  • Built a lasting creative relationship that extended into future collaboration discussions

Holiday 2025

I got pulled into this AMP shoot as extra hands on a massive set. A-team running YouTube, B-team handling TONE. Smaller crew, real pressure, no room for mistakes. Three days in, I’m moving gear, grabbing BTS, vibing with the crew, and keeping an eye on sound. Day two? I catch that two of the AMP members are about to roll mic-less. That would’ve been a post-production nightmare, so I flagged it immediately and we fixed it before anyone said “action.” What really hit me was seeing how creators at that level move. Big warehouse, celebrities on standby, money getting reinvested straight back into ideas. It felt like a crash course in how modern creators run real productions, not just content. Lowkey flipped a switch in my head about how I want to build and produce my own stuff going forward.

20k Diamond Rosary

Got pulled back in through a longtime collaborator for a wild one, a cinematic social cut built around a one-of-one jewelry piece that was pure excess and detail. No brief, no references, just vibes and trust. I remember thinking, aight… what does 330 carats actually sound like? The whole process felt like translating weight, danger, and craftsmanship into feeling, letting the stones, the metal, the fire do the talking without saying a word.

SET IT OFF Tour Intro

I got pulled into this one after linking up with Be El Be on a music video shoot — real organic, just being outside and doing the work. A day or two later he hit me like, “I need this animation sounding crazy, and I need it fast.” The process was straight tunnel vision — lock into the visuals, feel the movement, and build sound that hit just as hard as the animation looked. No overthinking, no second-guessing, just trusting my instincts and delivering. What made it matter was simple: this was a director I’d been watching since middle school, and now I was in the mix helping him move faster. One of those moments where you realize the work really does come full circle.

COOL WITHOUT DRUGS

This one came together fast. I got the call about a day and a half before this shoot for a self-funded collection drop film for Addicts, a local Atlanta clothing brand, fast turnaround, one of those “can you make it work?” situations. I said yeah and immediately went into problem-solving mode. Borrowed gear, learned a new recorder overnight, and showed up early knowing there was no room for mistakes. On set, it was just me, a handful of mics, and a director who needed clean dialogue to carry the whole piece. I stayed mobile, stayed flexible, and stayed locked in with the camera so the audio was good right along with the picture. The final video ended up being the brand’s most-engaged long-form post and helped sell out the collection. For me, it was a reminder that good sound isn’t about ideal conditions, it’s about showing up calm, prepared, and creative when the conditions aren’t ideal at all.

SHADE

SHADE came to me through director Valentino Dors, and from the jump it felt like one of those projects where the sound couldn’t just “work” — it had to feel right. The production audio was already solid, so my job wasn’t to fix mistakes, it was to sit with the film, watch it over and over, and really listen to what it wanted to become. Post wasn’t clean or linear. Cuts kept evolving, new music landed mid-edit, and I had to stay fluid the whole way through. Scene by scene, I shaped the dialogue, built the environments, and leaned into the quiet moments just as much as the loud ones. Projects like this matter to me because they’re not about polish for polish’s sake. They’re about trust, restraint, and using sound to deepen the story without ever pulling attention to itself. That’s the kind of work I care about most. Cannes Indie Shorts Semifinalist

Total Praise

I was hit up about a week before the shoot and basically had to say yes before my brain had time to talk me out of it. No long pre-pro calls, no slow ramp-up... just “we’re shooting, you in?” So I pulled up, figured it out on the fly, and learned the entire rhythm of a film set in real time. I said yes before I fully knew how I was gonna pull it off… and figured the rest out in real time. Day one, the first location felt like chaos. I was scrambling, adapting, learning how fast things actually move when cameras are rolling and people are waiting on you. By day two at the second location, something clicked. I got ahead of the process, moved with intention, and started trusting my instincts instead of second-guessing them. What mattered most was realizing I belong on set. That pressure forced me to level up immediately, creatively and professionally. By the end, the project didn’t just sound good, this project flipped a switch for me. It took sound from something I liked into something I knew I had to lead with creatively.

ONE TICKET PLEASE

This was my first time working with Wavy. I got connected through a mutual in my network, and the timing just clicked. He’d shot this beautiful cinematic short, but there was no dialogue, which meant the sound had to do ALL the talking. That challenge low-key lit me up. I treated it like a world-building exercise. I was outside all over Atlanta recording real environments, then back at home doing DIY foley with my mom, just chasing anything that felt honest. I wanted it to feel like you were there, hearing everything you normally would… just without voices. It ended up being one of his most-watched shorts, but more than that, it reminded me why I love sound. When it’s done right, it doesn’t explain the story — it IS the story.

Film Sound Design, Foley, Film Mix

The Situation & The Goal

  • This project marked my first collaboration with director/cinematographer WavyLord, following a referral from my professional network.

  • The short film was shot without any usable dialogue, meaning sound design had to fully carry the narrative experience.

  • This was one of my earliest attempts at fully realistic, diegetic sound design for a narrative short film.

  • Primary Goal:

    • Create a hyper-realistic, immersive soundscape that made the environments feel lived-in and authentic, despite the absence of spoken dialogue.

    • Ensure the audience could “understand” the film emotionally and spatially through sound alone, with dialogue existing only as closed captions.

Process & Key Actions

  • Designed and executed full narrative sound design to replace dialogue as the primary storytelling tool.

  • Conducted extensive field recording across the city of Atlanta to capture authentic environmental sounds, building a custom sound effects library from scratch.

  • Recorded original foley elements in a home setup, collaborating with an assistant to recreate realistic movement and interaction sounds.

  • Engineered diegetic audio layers to reflect what would naturally be heard in each environment, intentionally omitting voices while preserving realism.

  • Synced sound design tightly to picture, enhancing pacing, tension, and realism in support of the cinematic visuals shot on a Sony FX3.

  • Mixed and balanced all audio elements to ensure clarity, spatial realism, and emotional cohesion throughout the film.

Results

  • The finished film was well received creatively, praised for its immersive sound design and unique viewing experience.

  • Became one of the most-viewed short films on WavyLord’s YouTube channel.

  • Successfully demonstrated that sound alone could carry narrative weight in a dialogue-free cinematic format.

  • Established trust and creative alignment that contributed to an ongoing professional relationship with the director.

Personal Takeaways & Skills Gained

  • Developed strong realistic and diegetic sound design instincts for narrative film.

  • Gained hands-on experience in field recording, foley performance, and custom sound library creation.

  • Strengthened ability to tell story through sound alone, without reliance on dialogue.

  • Learned how to creatively solve production limitations (no dialogue) and turn them into a stylistic strength.

  • Built confidence delivering end-to-end audio for cinematic short films early in my career.

Produced during the transitional period from Baby Santana to Tana and was flasghip video for the release of his debut studio album "GAULTIER". One of my earliest music video sound design projects, approached with a sense of experimentation and momentum as both the artist and my role in post-audio evolved.
